I love lemonade. Maybe it's because it was the first drink I learned how to make. When I was little I'd put some water in a glass, add a bit of sugar and fresh squeezed lemon and voila!
I love the flavor and look of lemons but more than that I love the happy feeling lemonade gives me. It reminds me of being just tall enough the use the kitchen counters and "cooking" for the first time. My grandpa had a small table and chairs in the kitchen for us grandbabies to sit at while he cooked. He would give us some biscuit dough to play with. I was so happy to be there with him. I associated kitchens with joy. I think that's why making the lemonade in the kitchen where my grandpa cooked (I used to live with him before he moved down south and setup his farm) meant so much to me.
In this piece is a sort of version of child me mixed with him.

What is a Giclee print?
"Giclée prints are amongst the best fine art reproductions available today, used for gallery and museum exhibition, limited editions, private collections, archives, and more... A true giclée print refers to an archival print made from an inkjet printer equipped with a highly permanent set of inks in a wide range of colors. Artists, galleries, and collectors seek out giclée prints because of their unmatched standard of digital reproduction, and archival longevity."
